Sure. Are you looking for that favour I still owe you?
I'm living with a man who used to be my Master, though he doesn't remember me. Everyone in the apartment is gone, so I've been left alone. What you've taught me has come in handy since I have to feed myself tonight.
[Interesting. That involves more embellishment of what she managed to witness publicly.]
Well, actually, that's what I'd like to know. If answering my questions dictates a favor being granted, I'm fine with that.
First, what does it mean for someone to have been your Master? I assume that a lot of people don't ask that, and jump to various connotations. I'd rather not.
Secondly, are these men—your Master, and the man who was imprisoned—from your world? The reason why I'm asking is because I know Prompto, and I know he's friends with Noctis. I don't know the latter personally, but their world seems rather advanced compared to yours and what you know.
[ Wow, she is smart. He knew that from the get-go, though.
He will reveal some key points, but not everything. Maybe she can help with figuring out what's going on, here. ]
You're pretty observant, Clarke.
My Master and the man imprisoned are not from my original world. I knew them previously, in what might be an alternate universe. We were all summoned to fight in a war between an organization called COST and another called the Regency. The gods were involved on both sides. COST brought us to different points in time and even other worlds to stop the Regency from altering anything.
That's where I met Noctis, my Master, and that other man I spoke about.
As for what a Master is, that's complicated. How much do you know about magic? Mages?
[Obviously, Clarke couldn't see everything. Given that she hadn't chosen to partake in the conversation that occurred, it gave her a lot of time to see things clearly. That was helped along by choosing not to do more than skim certain ones. (Read: the especially emotional ones between individuals she knew had already lost their heads early on.)]
Do Noctis and the man imprisoned remember this other war? My other question is this: were you asked to enlist? And do you think us being here has anything to do with it?
I don't know anything about magic myself. We don't have it in my world. Loki makes it sound like it's difficult to understand in a simplified way. But that could just be Loki being himself. [An occasionally extremely condescending prick.]
You're asking a lot of questions. Are you just nosy, or is any of this of importance to you?
They don't remember the other war.
At first, coming here, I thought that the enemy had gotten a hold of me but it doesn't make sense that I'd be the only one who remembered.
I don't want to waste my time speculating when there will inevitably be a confrontation. Then, I'll know.
Well, then all I'll tell you is that a Master and his Servant form a contract. A Servant's body is sustained by magic that they get from their Master. That was the nature of my relationship with Noctis, and at one point, this other guy.
[Given that Achilles is the type of man who stabs a can and puts it on a stove instead of asking for help, she's not surprised that he can't see the significance of what she's asking.]
None of us know why we're here. You know why you were in that other place. I want to rule that out. Forgetting is a sign that you're right. It doesn't make sense that it would only be you. But it's new information just the same. I'll file it away.
I know some of the people here have powers they can feel. Can you still reach out to yours, even if you can't use it? Don't do it now if you haven't already. I've heard it hurts. A lot.

But first, how are you adjusting? What just happened seems to have upset you.

The man who's been imprisoned is someone I knew.
